Whirlpool circuit boards tend to be very well made, but they can be prone to failure due to temperature changes, condensation or vibration. Over time, this can cause brakes in the circuit board tracks, dry joints on the control panel, or component failure. The problems these cause are numerous, from missing sections of the numbers or display, flashing lights, or erratic operation such as complete failure or intermittent faults. Repair is possible, but it is normally better economy to replace the entire board or display unit, as by the time an engineer has come out and replaced the faulty part, you could have easily fitted a new one (if unsure how to do this, please consult a qualified trades person).
